About Me

Photography became a hobby for me when I first began traveling after high school. Both travel and photography were practically synonymous in my mind and I could not have imagined doing one without the other. With travel photography came a passion for photojournalism and telling stories through pictures. I have little doubt that this is how I found myself gravitating towards being a wedding photographer. Weddings are perfect for storytelling and I love the uniqueness and challenge of photographing each ceremony.
Though I graduated college with a Media Communications degree, at the end of my education, I found myself less interested in what I had studied and more interested in making photographs for a living. Now, as a full time wedding photographer, I could not be happier in my choice of work. Every wedding is a unique experience where I meet new people, visit new places and continually have a creative outlet.
Concerning my photography, I feel the best pictures are those that give a sense of reliving the moment or witnessing something first hand. In weddings this can mean not only catching the details and expressions of the day but also photographing as unobtrusively as possible. When a bride and groom look back at their photos, I do not want them to remember the photographer asking them to pause for a picture or to pose a particular way, instead I want them to look at those photographs and remember how they felt together at that particular moment.
